Just a quick little update here to keep the embers warm, the pot stirred, [insert your metaphor of choice], etc., while I continue setting things up and getting acclimated.

The working title and subtitle of this blog writing space are from the song "Looks a Lot Like Me", which is on one of my all-time favorite albums, "Mercy", by Bryan Duncan.  (For that matter, the title of this post is also from a Bryan Duncan song, on a different album, "Anonymous Confessions of a Lunatic Friend".)

Okay, let's see.  About my life these days... Well, my computer's motherboard got a bit fried earlier this summer, so I've been borrowing time on my sister's family's computers until I can afford, acquire, and install a replacement mobo.  I'm presently studying to get into the world of web design, and looking for some kind of other suitable work in the meantime.  This is an interesting time of my life -- well, okay, the individual days can often seem boring, but I realize from a broader perspective that it's a period of transition, if not also of growth.

Welcome to my Vox blog.  I'm a long-time (c. 2000) yet very low-profile user of various online diary and journal sites.  I'm hoping to use Vox to keep in touch with my family and friends.  Looking forward to seeing what this site has to offer.
